Dr Teodor Chirica

Senior Adviser to the CEO – Nuclearelectrica

Dr Teodor Chirica obtained his Doctoral degrees in Power Engineering with specialization in Waste Management / NPP Decommissioning, from the “Polytechnica” University of Bucharest in 2006. He is an engineer with rich experience with the Romanian power industry, actively involved in development of the CANDU project since early 70s, working for Romanian engineering and consultancy companies, and utilities.

During the last twenty years, he has been serving in different managerial positions with Nuclearelectrica, which led as CEO between 2005 and 2009. From 2009, he acted as Managing Director of AMEC Nuclear Romania (2009-2013) as well as for EnergoNuclear, the Project Company for Cernavoda Units 3 and 4 (2013 – 2017). Currently, he is Senior Adviser to the CEO of Nuclearelectrica.

Dr. Teodor Chirica is the President of FORATOM, since January 1st, 2018 and member of the FORATOM ExB since 2006.
