The World Nuclear Association and The Nuclear Energy Institute are seeking papers to be presented at the WORLD NUCLEAR FUEL CYCLE 2018 conference, to be held 17-19 April 2018 in Madrid, Spain.
The objective of the WORLD NUCLEAR FUEL CYCLE 2018 is to provide an international forum for the discussion of issues affecting the commercial nuclear fuel cycle, with a focus on enhancing the economic competitiveness of the nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear energy. Seven years after the Fukushima accident, the nuclear industry continues to adjust to shifts in the political, regulatory, and economic environment. Nearly every major nuclear power country faces headwinds that continue to delay growth or cut capacity as a result of shifts in government policy, low natural gas prices, and subsidized intermittent renewables. At the same time, China and Russia are continuing to aggressively construct and pursue nuclear growth. As a result of the shift in the nuclear plant outlook, nuclear fuel markets are significantly changing due to large overproduction across all fuel cycle stages.
You are invited to submit one-page abstracts for presentations addressing policy and commercial issues affecting supply and demand for the commercial fuel cycle. Anticipated topics include:
